what clients are saying...
Hi Jenna
Just a quick note to say thanks. The hair growth you treated around my chin and upper lip seems to have stayed away. It is now 6 months on from my last treatment and there is no sign of any recurrence. You were the 4th electrologist I tried after wasting a fortune on lazer treatment too and I was about to give up and resign myself to a lifetime of shaving.

Dear Jenna
I have now been home from gender reassignment surgery for 4 months. The happiest 4 months of my life. When I first came to see you, I was a wreck - 6 years being messed about by the NHS had all but destroyed me, and my life had been on hold for ever, it seemed.
With your patience, help and support I found my self-belief and the confidence to take control of my life. That was priceless and I’ll for ever owe you a debt of gratitude. I was so down, angry, cynical and skeptical when I first came to see you that you must have wondered if you’d bitten off more than you could chew with me... actually, I doubted that sentence the moment I wrote it!
I hope that by writing this to you, somebody else will see that their situation need not be hopeless. Within 3 months of you agreeing to work with me, I had a job, I had a plan and, with your help, I had the power of possibilty.
I shall never be able to thank you enough.

Hi Hon. Just to say thanks for yesterday; it was great to see you again, I very much enjoyed your company. And also, thank you for your amazing work. Loving your new system and in awe of how much you got done. CU soon, Jade x via text, 9th January 2007...
Hi Jenna,
I wanted to write a testimonial to thank you for your great work. Please feel free to pass my contact details on to anybody looking for more information.
I’ve made trips every 2 weeks for more than a year now to see Jenna. For me, a trip involves a 40 minute drive to Aeropuerto de Malaga, a 2 hr 40 min flight to Nottingham East Midlands and a 40 minute bus ride into Nottingham.
Why do I do this? Well - I tried several electrologists before I found out about Jenna and she’s in a class of her own. Nobody else was able to help me get rid of my awful hair growth, but she has systematically set about permanently clearing me of the stuff.
I was lucky to find her, because she doesn’t advertise (no surprise because she’s always busy). Anyway, I’m very glad I did because I’m finally free of the horror that was my facial hair.
I happen to know for a fact that probably 30% of the clients she treats come from overseas, which is of itself a testament to her reputation. And I bet they were as surprised as me the first time she offered to run them back to the airport at the end of her working day! For free!!!

Hi,
I have been to several electrologists over the last few years, but I truly wish that I'd gone to Jenna first, as I would have been cleared of my facial hair a long time ago. Thanks to Jenna, I'm now coming to the end of my treatment, and I'm very pleased with the results, as virtually all of my facial hair is now female pattern and has returned to its pre-puberty, vellus state.
Not only is Jenna a lovely person, but she's a very knowledgeable and skilled electrologist, and has quite a scientific approach to her work.
In the past I have found to my cost that it is not so much the amount of hair removed each session, but more as how accurately the probe is placed within the follicle, combined with the skilled use of the machine that achieves the desire results. Jenna is very skilled in placing the probe accurately and uses the machine effectively; so good progress is made and the results are permanent.
The machine she uses is of a very advanced type and can be especially programmed for male pattern hair growth; I believe the only one programmed as such, and in use in the UK.
If you can get your treatment done with Jenna, then you're very lucky; I certainly wouldn't trust anyone else.
I hope this is of help.
Kind regards

Hi Jenna,
When I came to see you for the first time, I was pretty certain I’d be wasting my time and money, but I was desperate. I had a deep, flat sounding obviously male voice. I’d already spent hundreds of pounds and hundreds of hours on useless voice feminisation courses.
I’d always thought that my post-pubertal voice could never sound truly female without voice box surgery and this was to be a final throw of the dice. I looked pretty passable, but if my first contact with people was the telephone, I was always assumed to be a man, and I could hear the disbelief in their voices when I told them my name was Marcia. Face-to-face, my confidence really suffered to, because as soon as I opened my mouth, I wasn’t able to convince anybody that I was a woman. Dark transition days indeed.
You explained that it was due to improper vocal technique that men in general never regain access to the upper reaches of their pre-pubertal voice and that naturally the same applied to women of transgender experience. Over the months, you showed me how to regain the necessary control and also helped me to achieve something else I never thought I’d do - give up smoking!
You went on to show me how to take my new voice and make it fit with my personality such that I now feel complete. I can’t begin to describe how this makes me feel, nor thank you enough for all your patient help. Not only do you sing like an angel, you really are one. I can’t thank you enough.

Hi Jenna,
I wanted to write this in case it might help anybody that was thinking of treatment, and also to say thank you for doing such a fantastic job on me...
I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovaries), not by my GP, but by my electrologist, Jenna, who insisted that I should get a second opinion, preferably an ultrasound. I did so and it showed up that I had PCOS, despite the blood test being negative. So now I knew why I had this explosion of hair on my face and my body.
I’d found out about Jenna, from the Yahoo web forum on permanent hair removal. She was the person who’d patiently, thoroughly and expertly answered the questions of so many correspondents over the last 5 years, including myself.
I’m really glad I found her too, because she’s a rarity here in the UK... a medically trained electrologist with a hospital rather than a beauty therapy background, and it shows. Before I started with her, I was ready to give up and totally disillusioned with electrolysis because I felt I was just being ripped off by the salons.
Jenna seems to work with all the most difficult cases and gets fantastic results, I’ve met several transsexuals that she treats, and I doubt there can be a tougher challenge for an electrologist than to completely remove a beard that has been growing for many years.
But that also highlights another point. Jenna is also a qualified psychologist and I’m sure that most of her clients have psychological issues as a result of their hair condition. I know I did, and Jenna has a knack of getting at those issues, almost without you being aware that she’s doing it, that was such a bonus.

Hi,
My circumstances are that I have had facial hair because of a hormone problem. This was sorted out but, of course, the hair problem remained. I have had electrolysis with three electrologists - one specialist and two general [i.e. at a salon] over many years - prior to Jenna and have had various types of electrolysis and IPL all without any meaningful progress. I had had several hundred hours of treatment before beginning to see Jenna in late February this year. Progress has been significant only since that time.
There is no doubt that Jenna is the most knowledgeable electrologist that I have come across. Needless to say, I have researched the processes, particularly because of the lack of progress prior to being treated by Jenna, and have been very impressed by Jenna's knowledge base and her interest and intellect. Her standard of hygiene and health and safety are exemplary. She is extremely skilled and passionate about her work and her clients' well-being.
As you can see, I have nothing but praise for her and her work. This can be evidenced by the fact that I live in the North West of England (Lytham St Annes) and travel to Nottingham to be treated by her.
I recommend Jenna wholeheartedly and without reservation and should you wish any further details please ask. I have kept my comments at a general level but I can give you more specific detail, if you were to require it.
I hope that Jenna is able to help you in the way she is helping me.
Best wishes,
Carolyn via email, 19th December 2005
Hi Jenna
I am writing to you to express my gratitude for the incredible thing you have done for me by giving me a hair free face. When I started my transition, I went to see Dr Read in London, nervous as hell I was for that first appointment. While I was in his waiting area, another girl started talking to me, well, her voice was so beautiful that I’d never have believed she’d been brought up as a man! Of course, that girl was you, Jenna and I’m still in awe of your voice.
When you left, I asked the receptionist who you were and found out you were a very specialised Consultant Electrologist, based up in Nottingham. That was getting on for 3 years ago now, and because of that chance meeting, I began travelling up to Nottingham regularly for electrolysis. I do have one more favour to ask of you though... Now that I’m free of hair, (and have had literally dozens of hours of free psychotherapy into the bargain)!!! Can I please persuade you to start giving me vocal coaching so I can continue to come and see you?
Thanks so much for everything you’ve done for me.

To prospective electrolysis clients on this Internet Forum...
This Christmas is especially happy for me as I can at last see substantial progress to becoming beard-free in the not too distant future. I started electrolysis in March 2003 and had approx 130hr with a sweet TS girl, using blend, finishing summer 2004. There was some thinning but nowhere near as much as I had anticipated. I considered going the E-2000 route but Texas is a long way and I was concerned about recovery from such an intensity of treatment. I looked around on the web, seeking the type of expertise that my dense facial hair, with much coarse grey hair, growing at all angles, required. I found the service offered by Jenna Clifton, well-known to this Forum!
I live about 150 miles from her so, to make things practical, I arranged to see her for extended sessions (comprising approx 5.5 hrs treatment time per session). I have now had something like 100hr with her and this week have been able to cease shaving my face (except below my bottom lip). When growth does come through, I trim with scissors. Below my chin and neck, I very lightly shave with an electric shaver.
What I have realised is that efficient treatment requires not only a skilled operator, but also a significant effort from self to ensure that the skin is well moisturised and as little as possible is done to encourage vigorous growth (and hence the commitment to reduce the areas shaved as these reach a certain clearance level).
Towards the end of the treatment session I do find that I am close reaching my limit! On my journey home I wedge an ice pack against my face where I can and, at home, have long relaxing bath where I massage my face with aloe and then apply triple antibiotic cream (bought in the US).
Now that the treatment is less intense (treatments per area), my face/neck is now presentable the following day.
However, it seems that it is only since I have increased the frequency of treatment to an average of near 3hr per week that we have broken through into this `no-shave' situation.
How do I survive 5hr+ sessions?
Firstly, I have faith that my operator knows what she is doing based on the results she is achieving.
Secondly, given that she is a trained psychologist, it is a fabulous opportunity to discuss T-related issues with a professional who really does understand things.
Thirdly, it is a good time to further my education in musical tastes!
Fourthly, it is a time for a chat and a laugh, even if she does complain about my Adam's Apple jumping up and down when treating neck hairs!
Thus, if electrolysis is inevitable, find a skilled operator with a personality such as Jenna's, work together to create the best conditions for the treatment and the overall experience will be as
efficient and as pleasant as is possible.
